Bavaria 38
“Evenstar” is joining our charter fleet for season 2007. The yacht, which is actually nearly 40 feet in length, is a typically attractive and well thought out sailing boat built by Bavaria Yachts in Germany. Although built in 2003, "Evenstar" has been very lightly used and is virtually as new.
The rig has the usual roller furling jib and a slab reefed main sail with lazy jacks and zippered sail bag. A whisker pole to boom out the foresail is carried.
A good sized spray hood protects the cockpit and all lines are led back to the cockpit which has good sized sheet and halyard winches. An electric anchor windlass is provided.
The spacious accommodation is laid out for six in three separate sleeping cabins with one large heads compartment with shower and holding tank. The linear galley to port has a two burner and oven cooker and a spacious fridge. The saloon dinette can seat up to eight.
The chart table area to starboard incorporates the navigation instruments including electronic chart plotter, GPS, Navtex, ships VHF radio, an ordinary CD radio and the cockpit instrument repeater which can display speed, depth and wind information. The main switch panel is also in this area.
The yacht carries a life raft, dinghy and outboard.
The Volvo Penta diesel operating through a sail drive unit will give up to seven knots.
