The Road to the Isles

At Portway, we like to think that the journeys to our bases at Kip Marina on the Clyde and Craobh Marina and Ballachulish Marina on the West Coast are part of the charter experience.

However, the journey time from Glasgow Prestwick or Edinburgh airports to Craobh and Ballachulish Marina on the West Coast can be up to 4 hours and from Glasgow City Airport about 3 hours and the refocus of our operations in Kip in 2012 is partly due to the time and cost of the trip to Croab, even though the roads pass through magnificent highland scenery and, some say, add to the whole charter experience.

Those flying in to Glasgow City, Glasgow Prestwick or Edinburgh airport could hire a taxi on arrival, however we recommend that they ask us to make these arrangements for them. We can hire a taxi, minibus and small or large coach at reasonable cost. The drivers will know the best route and where to stop if shopping is required. The driver will have our telephone number and we can be contacted en route if necessary.

Although we make all transport arrangements we always ask that the charterer pays the driver at the end of the trip.
